Posted by BIMA

Join BIMA’s Brand Council to get under the skin of the metaverse as an industry buzzword and unearth the opportunities it has for brands.

BIMA x Never Mind the Buzzword

‘Buzzword’ is defined as a word or phrase, often an item of jargon, that is fashionable at a particular time or in a particular context…and let’s be honest, digital and tech have a LOT of them. This hybrid event series will see BIMA’s councils come forward to demystify and explore all the hot topics in 2022, from the metaverse and creating your own NFTs to carbon positivity and where AI can take us next.

Kicking things off is BIMA’s Brand Council with Brands & The Metaverse, an in-person panel discussion on 16 June.

What’s it about?

Since Zuckerberg announced the rebranding Facebook to Meta, the term Metaverse is now the number one buzzword of any agency deck and so has become a dangerous Swiss Army knife in the toolbox of many brand marketers.

But is it for a good reason? Or just the latest tech term used to try stand out, and be so 2022?

In this panel discussion, chaired by Diageo’s Global Innovation Manager, Will Harvey, we will bring together a selection of brand marketers, technology enthusiasts and metaverse sceptics to get under the skin of the latest buzzword Metaverse and try to un-earth the real opportunities it could have for you.

What will we cover?

– Why has the Metaverse become such a quickly adopted buzzword within the marketing and brand community. Is it the right explanation of what the true potential lies beneath the lingo?

– What is the true potential behind stepping and exploring the opportunities within the metaverse for brands, agencies & consumers?

– Have we really seen the fullest potential of where Metaverse can offer opportunities for brands to engage with consumers in the future?

– Who is winning the metaverse wars, and realistically what part should brands pay attention to and others they should avoid?

Who’s it for?

Aimed at anyone who works in, or is interested in, brand marketing, or wants to find out what the metaverse means for your clients and big brands, join us for an in-depth panel discussion, networking and a few drinks on Thursday 16 June from 3.30pm.

Kindly hosted by BIMA Member, Foolproof, don’t miss out!
