BIMA Councils are the think tanks, there to inspire and educate the community, while our Steering groups exist to give advice and leadership on member benefits. Both are open to recruitment from BIMA membership.
BIMA’s Councils drive innovation and excellence across the digital industry. They prepare the industry for the future. If there’s a burning digital issue within creativity and tech that merits deeper exploration, chances are there’s a BIMA Council dedicated to it.
Meanwhile our Steering groups are designed to advise BIMA HQ on how to ensure member benefits remain relevant and offer maximum value. Our councils are like industry think tanks, while steering groups are like small advisory boards.
A BIMA council is a selection of industry experts that represent their particular field in creative tech and digital media. Each council is designed to be action orientated with a brief to provide ideas, advice and inspiration to the membership and wider industry. Events or research, council activity manifests itself in a variety of ways.

The Innovation council works to find and forge a diverse and dynamic UK-wide community of innovators of all levels and disciplines, and prove a collaborative forum for sharing best practice, skills and lessons learned.
The Sustainability Council exists to help our members and the wider industry understand the impact of digital technology and take positive action that leads to better outcomes for both businesses and the environment.
Steering groups exist to give advice and leadership on member benefits. Most meet online each month to advise BIMA HQ on how we can add more value to membership.
Behind the growth and innovation of any industry are its people. We have a duty of care to look after and support their physical, emotional, and psychological needs for sustainable growth.
By reducing barriers and fostering inclusivity, we create a safe space for young people to learn and network, breaking down anxieties and opening doors to the industry.

There are clusters of members all over the countries. While they all use BIMA to be connected to a national community they also have their own agenda and networking.
BIMA Scotland is setting a countrywide agenda to boost Scotland’s digital economy and drive positive change within the industry.
The North Council helps BIMA members in the North West, North East, and Yorkshire lead the way by creating a community of agencies, brands, start-ups, game developers and more.
The South West has a long-standing reputation as one of the main creative and technological hubs in the UK outside of the capital. The South West Council aims to bring together creatives from an array of businesses and industries across our region.
