BIMA Digital
Day

One day makes a world of difference to thousands of students.

What is digital day?

The only initiative of its kind, BIMA Digital Day is a FREE event that gives 11-16 year olds an insight into a world of digital careers.

It’s part of BIMA’s ongoing commitment to tackling the UK’s digital skills gap by sparking interest in tech and creative careers from an early age.

Every year, hundreds of schools and thousands of students participate in Digital Day, competing in a sponsored, nationwide digital challenge, supported by digital and tech companies within the BIMA community. The winning students are crowned Digital Day Champions and receive £500 cash for their school and exciting prizes for themselves.

Digital Day 2026 is on Tuesday 10 November, and we're still looking for agencies to participate. See which schools need an agency partner here.

Why does digital day matter

It’s a day that brings digital to life. And if previous years are anything to go by, it’s a day that changes lives.

Not so long ago, 95% of BIMA members told us a lack of skills was holding back their growth. The Centre for Economics and Business Research agreed, saying the shortage of tech and digital talent is costing the UK £21.8bn.

In the last few years, digital has been growing at twice the rate of the broader economy; but unless we fix the skills shortage, that can’t continue.

Digital Day works for schools, it works for students, and it works for the sector as a whole in encouraging more young people to discover the potential of a digital career. And with every passing year, it matters more than ever

How does it work?

Simply register above and we will pair up local schools and agency partners. BIMA will also provide you both with all the assets and materials you need to run the day.

Is it completely free?

Yes, BIMA provides you with everything you need. All we ask for is a little of your time.

How many students need to be involved?

This varies but typically we see a class of around 30 students paired with two BIMA members to go in and host the day with the support of a teacher.

Do we need computers?

We really need to present video to the students on a large screen, but it’s not essential that all the students have access to a computer, although it does help.

Will it be a full school day?

Timings of the actual session vary for different school timetables but usually you need to allocate a full day.

What assets do I receive on the day?

We provide assets for the schools and if needed we’ll send hard copy challenge briefs for the students to work from. We also provide the agencies with a deck to use that includes structure and the challenge brief.

Can i promote the fact we’re taking part?

Absolutely! Taking part in digital day is great content for socials. It’s a worthwhile project but it’s also a great marketing opportunity.
