Industry Immersion Programme

Help us discover the next generation of digital talent.

Shape the future of the industry

Digital, Data and Technology are reshaping society and its institutions. BIMA members are seeking the next generation of diverse digital talent to join the industry.

Working in the Digital Industry is exciting and rewarding. It includes many specialist roles (from Digital Marketing to UX Design to Web Development) and generalist skills (like Client Services and Project Management) as well as wider opportunities for professional growth and development.

This page contains information both for employers offering placements, as well as guidance for prospective candidates.

Our aim is to give future talent a taste of working in the digital industry, and insight into the specialist roles on offer. We'll be launching in London soon.

Apply now to join the programme and help shape the future.

Who can take part?

Any agency or employer willing to take on a placement candidate is welcome!

The duration can vary from 3-10 days or more, and it could be a remote, office or hybrid placement. We want to ensure it is as flexible as possible.

Why is this important

According to the ONS (Office for National Statistics), the unemployment rate in the UK rose to 5% in May 2026, up from 4.5% the previous year.

This number is significantly worse amongst young people, with over 1 million 16-24 year-olds not in education, employment or training (Neets), estimated to cost the economy £125 billion a year.

Thus, it is more important than ever that we help create opportunities for people to enter the workforce and gain meaningful career experience.
