Challenge
Raising a family is a difficult business. Multiple schedules, different priorities and trying to keep on top of it all, it can sometimes feel like life admin takes over. At a time when we can’t be physically present to support more vulnerable family members, ensuring their safety whilst maintaining their independence is difficult. What if you could know where your vulnerable relatives are, and get an alert if they don’t check in? What if you never forgot your child’s piano recital? What if your husband never forgot your birthday again? What if it was more organised, easy and safe, giving you peace of mind, more time to enjoy the special moments and less time worrying over the finer details?
Solution
Abode is your digital family hub. A mobile and web app to enable you to bring your whole family together even when they are physically apart. Abode combines schedules, location check-ins, tracking, emergency alerts and reminders for key events all in one place and to be accessed on the go to ensure the safety of family members (including pets!) and that key events aren’t missed. Useful features include birthday wish lists, event and birthday reminders, amalgamated calendars, maps showing the location of family members and pet trackers.
The app is a great way to provide independence to vulnerable members of the family by giving them the feeling of managing their own life. Their appointments, events or classes are easily accessible and they can ‘check in’ on the app, rather than having someone checking in on them and giving you peace of mind that they are safe. The family hub admin can set alerts for missed check ins to follow up on any safety concerns. You can even set reminders for other people so dad doesn’t forget to pick you up from football!
