4 reasons to get excited about BIMA Conference

If you were there last year, you’ll know the first BIMA Conference wasn’t like other digital conferences. It cast its net wider. It poked its nose into some unexpected areas. It was the sort of event where a keynote by Microsoft UK’s CEO Cindy Rose was followed by a panel fronted by Extinction Rebellion. Eclectic. Energetic. Extremely thought provoking. And a hell of a good place to bump into people you wouldn’t normally get the chance to meet.

So much ground was covered in 2019 that we wondered what they’d find to talk about this year. Turns out we needn’t have worried. So here’s what’s got us excited about BIMA Conference 2020 – Lessons for the Future:

  1. 2020: Climate change. Black Lives Matter. Brexit. The US election. The small matter of a global pandemic. It’s been one hell of a year and the conference will explore all of the above (and lots more) from a digital and tech perspective. How can tech help us be better prepared for pandemic 2.0? How do we remove prejudice from data?  How do you do digital transformation at pace? How do we restore faith in our sources of information and trust in our democracy?
  2. Practical. Inspirational: One of the things we loved most about the 2019 conference was its mix of keynotes, masterclasses and showcases. Big ideas sat side by side with practical application, which made every topic feel more immediate and more relevant. Although this year is online, BIMA’s promising the same mix of content.
  3. Collaboration hub: Given the events of the past few months, it’s never been more important for people on either side of the agency/client divide to explore new opportunities and collaborations. So it’s good to hear that BIMA’s planning to build in lots of space throughout the two days for delegates to connect.
  4. Everyone’s invited: One of the pleasant consequences of taking every event online is that you suddenly open yourself up to far more people than would otherwise be able to travel to your conference. And that means digital’s most expansive and exciting conference can reach a much wider audience – which is good news for everyone hoping to find some new inspiration – and new contacts.

It’s all happening on 18-19 November, and you can find out how to join in here.
