Cartoon Network Climate Champions is a microsite aimed at engaging kids aged 6-12 to take action on climate change by taking part in specially designed challenges. The initiative, developed in collaboration with global environmental organisation WWF, empowers kids to make pro-active change across the world. Across EMEA alone, it has inspired more than 100,000 kids to sign up and take on a total of more than 980,000 challenges.
Climate change is an incredibly important matter to the younger generation, but they find it hard to know how to make a difference. With Climate Champions, kids are provided with a clear call to action to get involved in over 200 varied challenges.
By accepting challenges, kids make a difference in their owns lives by re-using and upcycling household items, reduce their family’s waste, make their environment eco-friendlier, and reducing their carbon use, among many other positive actions.
They can track their progress through a global activity map, updated live. The map also features editorial content that tells the stories of Climate Champions making a difference across the world, creating a community of young people joining forces to work towards a better future.
