Shaun McInerney is a member of the BIMA Young Talent Council and is the founding Principal of The Studio, Liverpool a school for 14-19 year olds specialising in digital technology and creativity opened in September 2013. The Studio uses project based learning and partner links to prepare its students for careers in these growing sectors. The Studio’s curriculum pathways of Coding, Creativity and Entrepreneurship offer a wide range of academic and ‘high challenge’ vocational options for students. They combine this with a skills based curriculum developed with their partners to support their students to be ‘industry ready’. The Studio is the 5th start up school Shaun has worked on, including North Liverpool Academy and 3 start-up international schools in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Tamil Nadu. He is passionate about providing ‘catalytic’ opportunities for students that enable them to find their passion, blitz through barriers, launch their career and make the world a more positive place through digital technology.
