e3 and LSU become Great State

09 Mar 2018

e3 and LSU are now brand technology agency Great State

Big news: e3 and LSU have launched a new independent agency Great State (replacing the old e3 and LSU brands). This means they now offer three core services all under one roof: Consulting, Experience and Engineering (the key capabilities that modern marketers need).

Here’s what Stuart Avery, Group CEO, had to say in the marketing press about the new offering: “We’re bringing something fresh to the market. Clients don’t want yet another traditional comms agency or another big management consultancy. They’re tired of being pitched a ‘new campaign’ or ‘death by PowerPoint’. Instead, they need a partner who can help them with the fundamental problem of staying relevant – which is tougher than when you look at how demanding today’s consumers have become.”

What’s Great State’s mission?

Great State’s mission is to help brands stay relevant in a connected world. It’s their belief that stopping the slide into irrelevance is today’s biggest business challenge. What was once magical is quickly mediocre. So clients need a fresh approach and a new agency model.

In the modern environment clients need focus and velocity. By combining LSU’s deep consumer understanding with e3’s 20-year heritage of digital delivery, they promise to help clients define and deliver the products and services that will drive the greatest value – at pace and with scale.

What is Great State working on?

Now 80 people strong, Great State will continue to work with existing clients including adidas, Arla, Honda and the Royal Navy, as well as looking for new opportunities.

In terms of new projects, Great State will continue engaging with leaders across the C-Suite at large organisations (whose roles encompass Brand, Growth, Marketing, Innovation, Technology and Transformation) and to work on projects both ‘end-to-end’ – to transform whole businesses – as well as on discrete deliverables.

In addition to working on client projects, Great State is aiming to build on the success of some of their own IP portfolio, which includes social media publishing platform Okey Dokey.

What inspired the new name?

Great State’s founders believe that we’re living in an exciting time. Through the agency’s work, they’d like to restore the optimism around brands and their use of technology, as they have huge potential to positively shape our society – and to help create a great state for us all.
