The North of England is one of the country’s growing & exciting areas for digital innovation and new technologies. The North Council helps BIMA members in the North West, North East, and Yorkshire lead the way by creating a community of agencies, brands, start-ups, game developers and more.
Together, we’re working to protect and develop the North’s digital ecosystem by growing BIMA’s local events programme. We’re partnering with local initiatives. And we’re helping BIMA members in the area be ‘good’ businesses and ambassadors for digital.

Mike is a co-founder of Gecko (An Umbraco Design & Build Agency).
Gecko was born way back in the halcyon days of when the media was “New”. There were only two browsers, one device, and corporate comms lived on a CD-ROM.
With over 23 years of experience in the ever-evolving digital agency landscape. He has been fortunate enough to work with some amazing clients. Ranging from start-ups to big brands, across 20 industries located in the UK, North America, France, Dubai, and Australia.
A Manchester United fan (actually from Manchester) and a graphic design geek. Today, Mike’s core focus is to continue to grow Gecko’s reputation as an agency you’ll want to stick with, through building long-term client relationships and delivering the results they care about the most.
Kirstie Buchanan, Growth and Partnership Director
As Growth and Partnership Director, Kirstie provides insight and leadership for the business development strategy and direction of CTI Digital and many of its major clients. Driving growth in client services, new business and marketing functions via CTI Groups digital, innovation and business agenda in both the UK and Europe with a key selection of global and strategic partners. Known for being a big idea conceptual thinker who sees and harnesses market-shaping opportunities. Kirstie is also a member of the Advisory Board for School of Digital Arts at Manchester Metropolitan University and also a previous DADI award winner.
