Plastic landfill is a huge problem and with research suggesting the average lifespan of a toy before being unloved is very short (weeks, if not days or hours), many parents are looking for ways to buy second hand or preloved toys to reduce their environmental impact.

However, it can be hard to find exactly what you’re looking for, and as children grow and their play needs’ change, it’s hard for parents to keep up. Furthermore, while it is possible to buy second hand, there is no guarantee on quality.

 

Enter Whirli – a toy subscription service based on shared ownership. Parents choose a subscription plan which gives them a token allowance to spend on toys in the Whirli store. Whenever a toy gets unloved, subscribers simply send it back and get the tokens back to swap for something else. Fall in love with a toy and you can buy it to keep forever. When Whirli receives the toy back, it is triple checked, cleaned and sterilised before being put back in the store. Whirli enables parents to get better value for their money, declutter their homes, and lessen their impact on the environment.
