BIMA President Natalie Gross joined industry leaders from both the UK and Argentina for the BACC’s event “The 2019 Digital Landscape”.
Taking place at the Argentine Embassy in association with the IAB, the event brought together 3 panels of industry innovators, thought leaders and pioneers to lay out and analyse the new challenges that they face in the ever-shifting world of digital.
The first panel, titled “The Challenges for Publishers” contained a mixture of digital heads from both British and Argentine publications including The Guardian and The Telegraph. Discussion centred around how modern newspapers keep pace with fewer people reading print yet a growing number of news readers in the digital realm.
The second panel, “New Creative Media”, contained Gareth Leeding of BIMA Member We Are Social. Gareth and co. discussed how 2019 has signalled a shift in how the online community influences the market, as well as vice versa. One interesting observation was how the lines between reality and virtual are becoming blurred, with major sports stars influencing gaming culture, and gaming culture producing future stars in the sporting industry.
BIMA President Natalie Gross starred in the third and final panel, “The Horizon For Digital Agencies”. Natalie, along with BIMA Hall of Famer Nick Roope, were joined by Gabriela Scardaccione and Victoria Cole of Madre and Wunderman, and the panel listed the various shifting planes that digital agencies find footing on in 2019. The quartet stressed the importance of educating the next generation to prepare them for a world that will be almost unrecognisable in the next 15-20 years.
It was a fantastic event with a wide-ranging scope of views. We would like to thank the IAB for inviting BIMA President Natalie Gross and a number of our BIMA Members to such an insightful and important event. For more information visit their website.
