Driven by members from Monster, King, The FA, BBC Studios, Kingfisher, TUI and more, the council will set the agenda for digital and tech for brands.

BIMA, the British Interactive Media Association and the voice of British digital and technology, has announced the launch of its latest council, devoted to brands. The move reflects the increased integration of digital and tech innovation that’s happening in-house.

The council will serve as the voice for brands within BIMA, ensuring members are supported, building closer bonds between brands and digital practitioners, and acting as a bridge for more brands to benefit from BIMA’s work.

Co-chairs of the new council are Radha Davies, Senior Director – Brand and Communications at mobile gaming (including Candy Crush) publishers King, and Sinead Bunting, VP Marketing Europe for recruitment company Monster.

“It may often be tech organisations and digital agencies that enable brands to bring new and exciting experiences to consumers, but it’s brands that commission much of the sector’s work. It’s brands that foster the relationship with users and consumers. And it’s brands that are the proving ground for the digital and tech industry’s innovation,” says Radha. “With the Brands Council, we’re ensuring that brands have an equal voice in an industry in which we have such a vital part to play.”

“The relationship between agencies and brands has been changing,” explains Sinead. “More brands are bringing ‘everyday’ digital in-house and relying on specialists for the novel and niche. It’s important, therefore, that brands have a place where they can have conversations with each other, with the digital and tech sector, and with the startups and innovators who can help them deliver new experiences. I’m hugely excited to be a part of the new council.”

“BIMA’s councils ensure all our members, whatever their location, their specialism or the nature of their business, have a community to call their own,” explains BIMA Managing Director Holly Hall. “With the Brands Council, we’ve created a safe space for brands to explore tech and digital on their own terms, to share experiences, and to drive the brand agenda.”

The first outputs from the council will be released in the coming months.
