Part time – flexible hours

We’re looking for an experienced, dynamic and committed new member of our small but mighty team. This person really is the backbone of BIMA: managing the day to day finances and operations of the business and well as having an understanding of the bigger picture and BIMA’s long-term goals. Predominantly this means getting to grips quickly with the workings of our regular events, flagship programmes and key partners and sponsors. We’re also convinced there must be smarter ways of working and opportunities to streamline in this area and we’ll be looking to this role for new perspectives and proposals.

The important stuff

The role is 3 days/21 hours per week – the working pattern can be flexible

Based: Shoreditch, London office location but can also work from home

Salary: £40k pro rata

What You’ll Be Doing:

Finance (sole responsibility for)

 – Overall responsibility for building P&Ls and budgets

 – Responsible for all invoicing, credit chasing and credit control

 – Actioning and reporting all spend including staff salaries

– Management of COS and revenue on all flagship events advising the Event Manager

– Oversight and point of contact on all bank accounts as well as the corporate pension account

 – Key account holder for Xero; Float; GoCardless; Stripe; Sagepay

 – Completing procurement documentation and ensuring company insurance is up to date

Governance

 – Ensuring all contracts are fit for purpose, kept up to date and compliant (staff and supplier)

 – Ensuring all trademarks are up to date and actioning renewals www.bima.co.uk

– Ensuring all BIMA handbooks are kept up to date and adhered to

 – Providing support and data as required for BIMA Governance Meetings

 – Author and holder of security protocol documents and GDPR compliance documentation

HR & Operations

 – Set up, hold and update all staff records

 – Ensure all required licences and contractual arrangements are up to date and renewed

 – Oversee IT operations, including data, web domains, kit and software requirements

 – Maintain records of all IT kit and access codes and manage the IT supplier relationship

Skills & Experience

 – Finance qualifications preferred but not essential

 – Good analytical skills, able to understand, question and challenge a range of financial data

 – Good understanding of processes and workflows

 – Good knowledge of financial software such as Zero, Float and Sage and Microsoft Office

 – Strong ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
