London, 16th January 2026 – British Interactive Media Association (BIMA), the UK’s creative and digital community, has announced a new partnership with Online Responsibility Network (ORN) to accelerate the adoption of responsible standards across the UK’s digital industry.
The announcement follows the huge success of the 40th anniversary BIMA Awards last month, where ORN served as Headline Sponsor and helped bring together over 200 leaders from across the UK’s digital and creative sectors.
As digital experiences become more complex and influential, organisations are under growing pressure to demonstrate integrity, transparency and accountability. The partnership will bring BIMA’s national network of agencies, brands and innovators together with ORN’s expertise to establish a new benchmark for responsible digital practice.
ORN aims to be the leading independent network for companies to collaborate, share and apply best practices in online trust and safety. At the heart of the collaboration is a shared ambition: to make trust and safety a defining feature of digital leadership. The members-only platform encourages discussion on the changing online world, driving safer online engagement between brands and their consumers.
Through the partnership, BIMA members can easily connect with ORN and join the network to have access to the tools they need to embed responsible thinking into their work — from ethical advertising and content guidance to emerging technologies.
The partnership will launch with a private industry roundtable in February, bringing together senior leaders from across BIMA and ORN’s networks to explore online safety and digital trust in the age of AI. The session will focus on practical challenges, shared responsibility and how organisations can move from principle to practice.
ORN’s Assurance Framework, which helps organisations demonstrate high levels of responsibility and trustworthiness gives the community clear pathways to best practice.
Andrea Evans-Bilham, Director at ORN, said, “BIMA has a long-standing history of raising the bar for digital excellence. Partnering with them at such a milestone moment allows us to bring responsible standards to the heart of the industry. ORN allows organisations to engage with the online trust and safety community to solve complex issues together. Rather than treating trust and safety as compliance tasks, the collaboration with BIMA invites agencies, brands and creators to see responsibility as an opportunity: a catalyst for better ideas, better products and better long-term value.”
BIMA MD Matt Sullivan added: “This partnership is about shifting the culture of digital work in the UK. Responsibility shouldn’t slow innovation — it should strengthen it. Alongside ORN, we want to help our community build experiences that are safer, more trusted and more future-proof.”
