Sitecore has been trying to improve the way in which it interacts with the developer community. A few years ago, they open-sourced a best in breed codebase know as Habitat. This was quickly followed up with Sitecore Helix.
Both have helped create better Sitecore websites, so why should developers stop obsessing over Sitecore Habitat.
