BIMA Masterclass | Carbon reporting for client requests, tenders and B Corp

Join BIMA's monthly masterclass – offering digital professionals practical solutions that can be used within the workplace.

Online Event: We will send you a meeting link once you sign up.

For digital and creative businesses, carbon data requests are becoming a regular requirement – whether that’s a major client asking for your business carbon footprint, a public sector or NHS tender requiring a Carbon Reduction Plan, or B Corp (re)certification valuing climate action more than ever.

The challenge is that most businesses in the sector don’t have a dedicated sustainability team. From Ops leads to bid managers, sales teams to marketing, non-carbon experts end up handling technical data requests with little clarity on what’s expected and how to meet requirements effectively.

In this masterclass, Seedling’s co-founder Aimée Tennant will walk through the main types of carbon reporting requirements, what a credible response looks like, and how digital and creative businesses can measure, reduce, and report on carbon confidently – without it becoming someone’s full-time job.

You’ll leave with:

  • A plain-English understanding of the three most common carbon reporting triggers for digital and creative businesses: client requests, public sector tenders (PPN 006), and B Corp certification.
  • A clear and practical understanding of how Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions data is measured and reported to the standard these frameworks require.
  • Real examples from other digital and creative teams who have been through the same process.
  • Answers to your specific questions from the live Q&A.

This session is aimed at anyone working in digital, creative and tech businesses who needs to provide carbon data, or develop an emissions reduction plan, but lacks specialist sustainability expertise. It’s also for those who want to be better prepared for growing client, tender and B Corp reporting requirements.

That might be you if:

  • A client or prospect has asked for emissions data, a Net Zero plan, or a completed carbon questionnaire
  • You’re bidding for public sector or NHS contracts, or plan to
  • Your business is pursuing or renewing B Corp certification and the Climate Action topic is on your radar
  • You’re the person in the business who owns ESG or sustainability, whether that’s your full role, or one of many

You don’t need any prior knowledge of carbon accounting. The session is designed to be practical and accessible, and focused on what matters for the specific situations digital and creative businesses face.
