Children’s Parliament are an Edinburgh based charity who focus on children’s human rights and how their voices can drive sustainable change at a national level in terms of legislation, policy and practice.
8 Million Stories worked with their team across two key projects:
Canvassing the opinions of children across Scotland to create a 41-point digital report on how Scotland should tackle the climate emergency. This report was presented to the Scottish Government in June 2021 ahead of the national Climate Assembly.
The Climate Changemakers campaign to provide children in Scotland with a voice ahead of COP26 in November 2021.
With limited budgets, our team developed a range of promotional materials, digital toolkits, reports, videos and social promotions with the goal of achieving mainstream recognition for the excellent work Children’s Parliament were doing.
From humble beginnings the results have been outstanding. From recruiting a “champion school” in ten key Scottish regions, to The Children’s Parliament team meeting The Queen and Princess Anne, the press coverage has been fantastic – even going global after they were featured on the Climate Hub event by the New York Times which was hosted by the likes of John Kerry and Emma Watson.
