London, 25 March 2024 – BIMA is delighted to announce we have been shortlisted for the 9th Annual Better Society Awards in the Major Project of the Year category, alongside our sponsors EPAM Systems, and 2023 partner Vue Entertainment, for our annual programme Digital Day.

The Better Society Awards honour organisations dedicated to creating a better, more equal, ethical and sustainable world for all.

Every year, we run BIMA Digital Day, a unique initiative designed to give 11-16 year old students a glimpse into the world of digital careers. This programme offers every student across the country the chance to explore the industry and envision a bright future for themselves.

During Digital Day, students interact with our members, industry experts who generously share their time to inspire the next generation. They also participate in a nationwide digital challenge, where they showcase their skills and innovative ideas.

This year’s challenge was proudly presented by our sponsors EPAM Systems and challenge partner Vue Entertainment, and attracted over 12000 students across the whole country.

“We are thrilled BIMA Digital Day has been nominated for the Better Society Awards. It’s a privilege to work with so many schools and encourage children to look at the endless possibilities of a future in Digital. This nomination gives additional recognition to the pupils, teachers, agencies and brands who work together every year. We are now even more excited for digital day 2024!” said Louise Lamb, Digital Day Coordinator, BIMA.

“We are very excited about our nomination for this prestigious award. This highlights BIMA’s commitment to making a meaningful difference for young people in both the industry and society. Digital Day is one of our most successful programmes, and we’re very proud to see its impact recognised” said Giorgia Andreano, Marketing Manager, BIMA.

Initiatives such as Digital Day exemplify BIMA’s dedication to tackling industry challenges, such as bridging the national Skills Gap. This commitment is central to BIMA’s mission and values structured around our 3 key pillars: Skills Gap, Culture and Growth.

The 13th edition of Digital Day will take place on 13th November this year, and applications are open to both companies and schools. Learn more about Digital Day here.
