Online clothes shopping opens up a world of choice to consumers, but the picture isn’t always golden. Consumers don’t know the quality until arrival and the returns process is lengthy and risky, with multiple opportunities for money and items to be lost in the chain, from missing the returns deadline to the item being lost in transit. Despite the risks of online sales, social distancing measures and COVID-19 restrictions have only accelerated the move to online shopping and independent brands are being dwarfed by fashion giants. How can we look outside of the major retailers for independent brands that avoid “fast fashion”?
