An introductory session designed to raise awareness of mental health.

Join this interactive MHFA England workshop, certified by Royal Society for Public Health, run by Deanne Walsh, Founder and Trainer at Dewa Consulting, where we will explore what mental health is and how to look after your own mental health and support others.

What to expect

Key learning outcomes from the session include:

  • Understand what mental health is and how to challenge stigma.
  • A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues.
  • An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing.
  • Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue.

Everyone who completes the course gets:

  • A certificate of attendance to say you are Mental Health Aware.
  • A manual to refer to whenever you need it.
  • A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health.

Deanne Walsh, Founder and Trainer at Dewa Consulting

Deanne has been working as HR and Wellbeing Lead for Mando since 2015 and founded Dewa Consulting in 2018.  She is member of the BIMA Wellbeing Council, Co-host of the BIMA HR peer group, and supports the BIMA North West Council.

Since 2007, Deanne has been in HR Management within the service sector, providing pastoral support, training and development, and compliance management. She’s also a person centred wellbeing, career change and executive coach.

She is a volunteer Counsellor, having spent time at both Childline and Shout Crisis Textline and work as an associate trainer for Chasing the Stigma’s Ambassador of Hope, The Burnt Chef Project hospitality mental health training and Drinkaware alcohol awareness training.  Deanne is also a Menopause Champion.

With a passion for mental wellbeing, particularly within the workplace, Deanne Walsh offers training and coaching with an emphasis on supporting individuals to be self aware and well informed.  The aim is to enable them to be healthy, productive and fully engaged.
