To tie in with Global Accessibility Awareness Day on Thursday 18 May we will be running this event based on digital design for people with physical disabilities.

Our expert panel of designers and disability advocates will delve into topics such as inclusive design principles, assistive technologies, and the challenges faced by people with disabilities in everyday life using digital products. Matt Gibson, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer at Cyber-Duck

Matt Gibson is Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer at Cyber-Duck, a user-centred digital transformation agency based out of the UK. With nearly 20 year’s background in Interaction Design, Matt helps oversee all aspects of Cyber-Duck’s production lifecycle including research, design, and delivery of inclusive products and services, for organisations like Sport England, Compare the Market and the Bank of England.

As a BIMA Hot 100 top creative in the UK, Matt is a champion for inclusive design, and accessibility best practices – based on his firm belief in the universality of the web and the power inclusive design has in creating better experiences for everyone – levelling up Cyber-Duck’s team and clients’ awareness and knowledge to deliver this. Also speaking at SXSW, UXPA, UX London and published in Smashing Magazine’s popular ‘Responsive Web Deisgn’ book series on the topic.

Paul Bepey, Senior Accessibility Consultant, Deloitte Digital

Paul works in the field of Accessibility and Inclusive Design. Being registered blind himself, the frustrations that can be caused by inaccessible environments, apps and services is only too real. As well as working with developers, suppliers and the like, Paul also works to educate others around accessibility and inclusion to spread the knowledge far and wide.

As well as working at Deloitte, Paul is a chair of governors for a primary school in London which has a visually impaired unit integrated into the school.

Meera Rao, Lead User Experience designer at Cyber-Duck

Meera is Lead User Experience designer at Cyber-Duck. Meera leverages over 15 years’ experience of financial analysis at American Express and Barclays to marry data-based insights with inclusive user research methodologies to solve complex business problems and make real impact on user experience. Leading the UX work on key clients both in the private and public sector, Meera is passionate about accessibility; designing user-centred experiences that are accessible to all.

Yahye Siyad, Diversity & Accessibility Lead at Cyber-Duck

Yahye Siyad is Cyber-Duck’s Diversity & Accessibility Lead, bringing his personal and professional lived experience to his mission of ensuring accessibility is baked into every process at Cyber-Duck’s work and culture.

Born in Somalia with a visual impairment caused by retinal dystrophy, Yayhe grew up in the Middle East, has lived in 4 countries and travelled in over 50, using his white cane to navigate the world independently and a screen reader to access the Internet.

A Team GB Paralympian athlete Goalball and UN-certified disability awareness trainer, Yahye founded Inclusive Horizons, a self-led social advocacy service providing consultancy to leading brands such as Mercedes and the Emirates. Yahye is a life coach, author of The Unshakeable Will, and the first visually impaired Certified Scuba Diver in the UAE and currently planning for his PhD in Digital Inclusion.
